Meteor Crater & Winslow AZ

Yes, this is Meteor Crater. It's a little ways away from Winslow AZ. It has the nicest visitor Center-elevator, handicap access, the whole shebang!

It's hard to tell just how huge this place is, but at the bottom is an area where they tried to excavate and find the original meteor in the early 1930s and they placed an American flag down there when the moonwalk took place and it's like a pin dot from the rim. The Astronauts actually trained here too.

Here's Standing On the Corner Park in Winslow. It's pretty cool. It's at an intersection with RT 66 so there's quite a bit of tourist traffic. On to Grand Canyon!
