Dot Swap Quilt

These photos are from June7. I got this quilt top together!
I used two 10" square packs that I got on sale over at Brooklyn Fabric Company for only $15!
THe print fabric is called Geo Pop from Benartex/Contempo Studio. It's a lot of different colors and edsigns.

So here we go!

Here's the pattern I used, it's from the Love of Quilting magazine.
It's called Dot Swap and it's Liz Porter quilt.
I pretty much followed the directions 😃I did change it up a tiny bit and made a template to cut the odd angle on the star shapes. It worked pretty darn slick! SO now to get it spray basted, I got a new can of 505, so here we go!

I got the back-it's pretty interesting- stuck up on the garage door-those magnets are still doing great!
Then sprayed and stuck the batting in place. I'm thinking I need a little bigger garage door.......
And then spryed the batting on this side and smoothed the top into place.
I'm really liking this quilt.

Ringo helped.......
Dogs and quilts, what more does anyone need!
I'm really liking the black dotted border.

And here's the finish, ready to get a washing!
Corners look really good don't you think?
And I got all fancy and quilted 2022 in the corner.
And after a wash......
Here's the back...I'm a little bit overstocked on fabric, so I used what I had and pieced the backing.
I even used a panel print that I've had around for awhile. I don't usually make wall banners so it was a good way to use this one up!

I clothes pinned the finished quilt to the tree branches, but that's all the higher I could reach! This one finished at about 108" X 98" about queen size.
I used pretty pink variegated thread to quilt it in a loopy design that I thought would make it look fun!
I'm not crazy about loopy quilting, but it's ok/

I'm pleased with the scrappy white background, I used mostly the colorful dots, but added in some other whites to scrap it up a little bit.

So glad to get some fabric I have in stock used up. The All Iowa Shop Hop is going on right now and I don't think I can resist much longer....
I may need to buy some happiness....er, I mean some fabric.
