Another Homeless Sewing Machine

Look at this cute little sewing machine I got at the flea market yesterday. I think the name sewing machine is to be used loosely with this little guy. It's about the size of my hand, and it's a very manual unit. You sure would want to have good strong hands to sew very long with this one! You press the spring loaded parts together to move the needle and you have to move the fabric along with your other hand, and funny-it sews backwards-at least compared to big machines.

But ya know what? It does work. It makes a little chain stitch, that I can't think would be very useful for anything. Maybe a desperate hem in a desperate time, because the trouble with a chain stitch is it pulls right out with the slightest tug on the thread.
