So, yesterday was sure something! My hometown, Marshalltown, Iowa suffered a severe tornado. There seems to be much damage but thankfully, no fatalities. The beautiful courthouse has sustained serious damage as seen in this photo from jackie/KCRG.com. The building with all the bricks in front of it looks to be a huge loss. It was Fantle's Department store when I was a kid-I think it was most recently a bar though.
Thankfully, the parents are all fine at their place and after a little power outage, they are all back to normal. It seems like all th emergency preparedness paid off, since people were able to take shelter in time. Now the hard work begins for all the emergency resources.
