All Bound Up
So, I finally finished binding this triangle quilt. I used the scraps I had left over and I cut it in that nice 3" width. What a rebel I am!
It looks good doesn't it!

Money Envelopes
So it's graduation time isn't it! We have a couple of grads at our church and have collected some cash to gift them. I thought I'd whip up a couple of cute envelopes to present the cash in.
I used my cool envelope maker punch board, and some bright double sided card stock I had on hand.
I chose the 3"X6 1/2" size envelope from the list on the punch. It's a little big but will have lots of room for cash! SO using paper cut to 7 7/8" square and punch and score and fold and ta-da! This size of envelope makes the flaps a little long so I just chop it off on my paper cutter.
There, folded, glued and ready for a closure!
I used the flip side of the paper to make bands to hold the envelopes closed. If I was mailing them I would just glue them closed but we might have some late additions on Sunday so this makes it easy to open and add more cash!
Looks good! I just glued the band together and slipped it on. And I can slip it off to open the envelope. SO I guess it could even be re usable, well isn't that "green"! haha green like cash....I crack myself up.

Drive In Pilgrimage
So we made our first pilgrimage to the Valle Drive In in Newton Iowa Saturday Night. Double feature as always, The Amazing Spiderman 2 and The Monuments men.
The amazing Spiderman 2 was not a great movie. The casting was good, the acting was good, but the story was just too long and convoluted. Too many characters that we really didn't need to see . It could have been 40 minutes shorter in my opinion. The beginning scenario could have been shorter and we didn't need to see that again at the end. (I'm avoiding a spoiler here!)
Now the Monuments Men! Loved it! What a great story! What a great cast of actors! This movie could have used a few more minutes to expand each character, but still a great movie.
We drove througha little rain to get over to Newton, but it turned out to be a perfect clear, cool night.
We paid our $7.50 each and found our favorite spot west of the concession stand. We had stopped at the Hy Vee in newton and picked up a bucket of chicken and some beverages so we picnicked before the show started.

Drive 4 UR Community
Ford motor Company has a program called Drive 4 UR Community, it lets folks drive a new Ford car and then Ford gives the school cash after the test driver fills out a one page survey. The whole thing take about 15 minutes and if our local Ford dealer, Carter Ford, can get 300 people to test drive a car , Ford will pay our local elementary schools $6000.!
I drove the Flex.
Wow is it a nice big car! Lots of room in here!
It has all the bells and whistles! Hands free phone access with Ford sync, climate control, all kinds of options!
This model has heated leather seats!
And look 3rd row seating! Well that was a fun test drive! I love this fundraiser. I don't have to buy anything from kids selling knickknacks, and it only take s a few minutes. If you get the chance to drive 4URcommunity, make sure you do it!
