Dogs and Sinks

So, last weekend we dog sat for ALL the grand dogs.
 

This boy has issues-he just waits for his people to come back. 

These two went on a work trip and to see the GooGoo Dolls in concert. They are still out working in Fargo and those areas. We transitioned the dog sitting to other folks!

These two went to Milwaukee for a motorcycle meet up. Thankfully they got home safely, and all the dogs have gone to their homes.

We had Ackerman Plumbing come in and replace our kitchen sink and faucet. See the old one here-it's in pretty bad shape.

And here's the in progress. I had to get my saber saw and trim the countertop opening a little bit. I watched a youtube video real quick-the plumber wouldn't cut the countertop-not their issue. SO I took matter into my own hands!

And here's the new sink! Looks sooo good!

And the fancy faucet. Now to get the drinking water to work again. The plumber changed the filter for us and now it won't work. We've got a guy coming to take a look at it.

We might have to get a new one. What next!

Summer Hopping

DD and little Drew were out mowing the lawn last week.  And here comes Bean!

I always love having all the kids over. Such a fun time. But now it's time to shop hop!

The All Iowa Shop Hop started the 1st of the month. It goes for 2 months this year! YAY!!!

So I gathered hubs up and we spent Saturday hitting a few shops. 

We hired little Jaymie to dog sit the herd. 

She did a great job keeping all 4 dogs safe and happy.

And here's the haul. 

I found so many good deals! I don't think I paid regular price for anything! Oh wait I did for the  fat quarter bundle...but that was a good price!

I already made 3 pillowcases for the new kids :-) I'm planning quite a few more-I need to work through this stash pile!

SO I finished my region on Sunday and I doubt I'll get too much more done, but I do have another month!

Now I'm working on this......

A Dog Day

We got a new collar for Luna at the yard sales!

The whole herd was over for the weekend.

And this is in the works!

 

A Little Progress

So I cobbled together this temporary fence to keep the canines contained while some cement was coming for the new deck.

The contractors arrived and removed the steps, and 

prepared a little pad for the bottom of the steps-I like to think of it as a doggie doormat. It's about 6' X 8' or so. 

And here comes the cement!

It was a good day to be outside-not too hot, not too cool.

We've been waiting since last year for this work to get going.

After the derecho, we had damage to the deck, so we decided to upgrade a little with the cement. 

It will be so nice to have a sturdy place for the bottom of the steps. Plus maybe the dogs will leave a little dirt out there instead of tracking it all in.

It didn't ake much time at all and they had the cement all dumped in.

They worked it all out -doesn't it look great!

We're looking forward to more work in a week or two. Some of the lumber supplies are on order, so we're waiting on that to arrive. More to come!

Big News and Birthdays

Yup...lookie here-I got the first of 2 vaccines today! YAY! One more in April. So glad to get this done!

On Saturday, this postcard kept taunting me....20%off...go over to Amana....

SO of course I caved and drove over to Heritage Designs.

THis is just the nicest store-It's not the biggest, but they do have a nice selection...and on sale!

I picked up a few of the Iowa prints, I've been thinking about the Iowa Hawkeyes quilt for awhile now. Than I saw a pattern on MSQC Youtube that I think will work out really well.

I already had quite a few black and golds stashed for this project.

And the first few blocks look pretty good! 

Then I came home and made a little birthday cake. It's a Mt Dew Cake.

People make soda cakes all the time, and you could use any flavor beverage. It came out pretty good. It looked pretty on the glass platter.

We also had the German chocolate cake to celebrate Dannie & Jaymie's birthdays.

It's been quite awhile since we have been able to get together. 

Everyone except me & Ben oh and Dannie's latest BF Shannon, had their vaccines, and the kids are always a wild card no matter what. 

Jaymie turned 13! 

We had breakfast for supper, pancakes and waffles with sausage & bacon.

It was really good. 

And with 7 dogs playing together it was like a scene out of Go Dog Go! Happy Birthday indeed!
