Hospital Stay

 Well! That was a crappy birthday! I spent 2 days in the hospital to get a kidney stone removed. I think they did a good job getting me in and the surgery completed.

I'm home and slowly getting better. Just one hole left in my kidney, and that will get closed up (hopefully) in two weeks.

And I got this cute baby quilt quilted before I went in the hospital.

I love that tie dye fleece backing. 

Hopefully, I'll feel well enough to sew soon! 

Dilly's Birthday

The littler boys are loving the swing!

Drew just laughs so hard when he gets pushed "High-High"!

It was Dilly's birthday the other day! 
 WE had everyone over for a little get together on the patio!

Mike and Lieshia"s boy, Brennen, played with Dilly so nicely. Dilly really loved him!

Presents and cakes were all great!

I swear, I'm still getting green frosting off of things around the house!

And everyone had a good time roasting wieners and playing with the gifts. 

It Was A Great Birthday.

 So, in addition to being my birthday last week, it's the Mystery in the Heartland Shop Hop. Only 8 shops and solve the puzzle of who used Mrs. Claus's scissors on paper. 

SO I took the day of my birthday to driver around Southeastern Iowa and buy fabric! I made a chart to figure out WHO DUNNIT?!

What could be better? I had already made two stops in Kalona, earlier in the week. SO I just had Two in Muscatine, Two in Burlington and One in Mount Pleasant and one in LeClaire. That LeClaire one is really out of the way, but I figured I'd hit them up, they are a shop with new owners at the same location that used to be a fabric shop a few years ago. Then I was planning to go to Hayden's last football game of the season down in Ft Madison! Sounds like a road trip!

SO I took off and headed for LeClaire first, then over to Muscatine, then over to Mt Pleasant then complete the hop in Burlington. Not exactly a straight route, but I got it done!

A little something from each shop, I now have plenty of projects!       
Best of all, Burlington has a Sonic, so birthday deliciousness! 

And I made it to the football game too!

These guys were waiting for me, I was a couple of minutes late, but the Sonic stop was worth it!

Hayden's Team won so they finish the season with only one loss! YAY!

I got home and remembered I had to gift myself and Look at the gorgeous flowers I got from Hubs and the kids. 

And this is the pretty box that Hands Jewelers put my earrings in. I bought them when I picked up my fabulous Retirement Ring, and saved them for my birthday.

SO pretty, I just love them! Who knew that I'd love these diamonds as much as I do?! 

But the most impressive present came from Bean. They brought over this box while I was gone shop hopping, and came over the next day and set it up.

All I can say is WOW! I was skeptical, but not any more! This little robot, I named her Rosie, does a great job and gets all the dog hair from around the chairs and I don't have to do anything but empty her bin! It's just a great little robot!

Ringo is not so sure about it, but I sure do like it! She goes from the hard floor to the carpet and under the beds and just about everywhere!

SO it was a great 64th birthday!

October Hodgepodge

Hubs made some bread...it was not bad!

I sewed a walker bag for Mom's walker. I used the cute Bernina fabric I've had around for awhile-I even made Bernina bias tape! :-)

When we were up there installing the elevator lift, I noticed she had a plastic Wal mart bag tied to her walker! That's just not right!! We're sewers, we have fabric! 

So I googled around and ended up winging it to make this one. It fit perfectly, but for some reason, I didn't get a picture of it in action when I took it up there the other day.

I'm still working on Social Sharks. 

I got these beautiful flowers from Andrew & Dannie for my birthday. Just gorgous!

It's startgin to look like fall around here too!

And when I went up to Mom & Dad's the other day, I stopped for a Maid Rite and a shake. It's soooo good!

 

Birthday Bingo

 So, if you go to Meskwaki Bingo & Casino over in Tama Iowa on your birthday, you get a credit so you can play almost free. I grabbed my bingo dauber tote bag and headed out!

 Except for a little detour! The water was over the road over near Belle Plaine, so I took a detour, which also had water over the road, until I finally made my way though the back-roads of rural Iowa to the casino!

 They have new computers! YAY! they are sleek little tablet like devices. I also got a paper card so I could daub cards too...and have more chances to win!

 So this guy was sitting right behind me...can you see he's got a bald spot on his head? Well I kept looking and I couldn't figure it out.....

 He has a tattoo on his head!!!!!!!!! It's a character pushing a lawn mower!!! Seriously, I've seen quite a few tattoos, but really?? I couldn't get a really good picture-the overhead lighting was a glare on his head. Anyways, I was amused.

 And SURPRISE! I broke the losing streak! I had to split the pot with another winner, but I got $50!! So even with the detours, it was worth it!

 Then my DD, brought me cupcakes and flowers! WOW! Are those the most beautiful roses!! They are just lovely!! And cupcakes from Scratch Bakery. YUM!

SO I had a lucky day! Who could ask for a better birthday!
