Dilly is Keeping Me Busy

 

This guy was over a while back and thought Rosie the robot vacuum wanted to play, so the chase was on!

He would have caught her too!

And starting to stand a little bit too!

I am becoming a Caitlyn Clark fan, so had to pick up some of the new fabric with her image on it! I kind of hate the color, it's obviously not authroized by the University of Iowa because the colors are off and the hawkeye images aren't the U of I hawkeye. I'll have to think about it a while before I figure out a quilt for it.

Dilly needs a sun hat, so I opened a book and got this pattern....

Looks pretty good! Then I did another one....

Pretty cute I think!

And I've been working on this project. On the All Iowa Shop Hops, on some years, they give you a little block for each store you visit. I felt like I needed to get them used up!

The shadow blocks look good with the mixture of  little squares from the shops. I've collected these for a few years. so let's go!

And of course, I was baby sitting the other day for the two youngest boys and had to go to Hy Vee.

They both were just perfect! Drew got M&Ms he was so good!

Then it was on to the library book sale at our local library.

THe train/building table was very popular with both of them!

And Dilly also enjoyed the toys on his level! 

So I think I'm almost caught up. Now to get some pictures of my latest finished quilt!

Saturday

 So Saturday is often library day for me. Today at the Coralville Public Library, they had a letter press demonstration! Very nice people explained about the Makers Space located in downtown , and gave everyone a chance to try out the letter press machine!

 Love a little creativity at the library!

 Lovely Jean went with me to dump some junk at the landfill-on the way  back we saw a big turtle creeping onto the highway. I pulled over and Jean turned the big guy around and headed him into the ditch. One turtle rescued!

 We've got DD's pup Riley visiting too! Bob is just not too sure about her.

 And I also dropped off my entry in the Map My Oxford Art Contest at the oxford Library. T His is the backside. The idea is people are supposed to create art based on Oxford, then they are planning to auction them off during the sesquicentennial.

 Here's the front! I crazy pieced the background then used Benrnie's cool stitches to make the streets and railroad tracks. I asked what the prize for the contest is, and they didn't know! Well that's another project done!

And I needed to get the flag changed out-it's Memorial Day weekend after all. The big storms the last week or so, have really taken a toll on Old Glory.  Hubs will take the old flag to his American Legion for retirement. There-that's much better! Now if it will just stay dry for a day so my gardener can get my lawn mowed!!

It's The Weekend!

SO I picked up Darling Daughter and we went to buy dog cookies, and then I needed to stop at the library.....she reads people while i find books!

Then we went to the kiwanis Antique show over at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. Lots of cool stuff to see, and A CROWD!

Love to browse the antiques! We had a great time.

Book Sale Today!

So the library had their book sale today. They have them a couple of times a year. I always go but I rarely buy a book. There's a whole other room full of books too, and this is on day 2!

If I buy a book I'd have to dust it on the bookshelf at home..no stuff to dust for me thank you very much.

But they have a ton of books and they GIVE A LOT away. FOR FREE!

That's where you'll find the encyclopedias. On the FREE rack. They can't even give them away. I always thought they'd make a great lamp, like this...

DD was babysitting little Wyatt and I needed to go to the library. so LOOK WHO HAD A GOOD TIME THERE!

I LOVE my library and the wonderful people who work there. And now I also LOVE the Summer Reading Program! Look I'm a WINNER!!!!!!! Fitty big bucks to spend at Barnes & Noble!!! WOW!!!! I Am SO Excited !!!!!

Library Books

I Love my Library. And here's one thing I have discovered. Large Print Books!! Yup...hey, don't be mean!!!! Look it's soooo nice to be able to read before going to bed without my glasses on. AND bonus!..Most of the time if I want to read a new release and it's all gone from the "regular" books, I can get it from the large print section. Really, Why even bother with regular print books!LOL!

 This is the latest Joe Pike novel from Robert Crais..it was really good. I loved the title, and story tie in. Anyways look how nice & big  the type is. Oh I guess I could have picked a "cleaner" paragraph to photograph, huh?
