June is Almost GONE!

 So, It's been a little busy, I had a yard Sale on Saturday. It's a lot of work to move junk...I mean merchandise, from one place to another. 

I piled it all in the garage to get it ready for Saturday.

I also sold some quilts at the bargain price of $50each. I sold 4!!!

By the afternoon we were down to this much stuff! We did really well! Kids clothes sold well! 

Dad was hospitalized up in Waterloo, he went to his local hospital complaining of chest pains, and they sent hijmm on to the cardiac unit in Waterloo. He spent 4 days there, they inserted a new stent, and he seems as good as new now. 

And Hubs was in the hospital, at the VA to get some blood transfusions, he was a little low. No one knows why, but this happens once in awhile. He's as good as new again too!

This guy was very helpful. 

Well, that's enough of hospitals for this year I hope!!

And we worked in a trip to the drive in too!. 

Hospital Stay

 Well! That was a crappy birthday! I spent 2 days in the hospital to get a kidney stone removed. I think they did a good job getting me in and the surgery completed.

I'm home and slowly getting better. Just one hole left in my kidney, and that will get closed up (hopefully) in two weeks.

And I got this cute baby quilt quilted before I went in the hospital.

I love that tie dye fleece backing. 

Hopefully, I'll feel well enough to sew soon!

Look how caught up I am! I've been working on this quilt from a pattern in the All Iowa shop Hop magazine. It's a struggle to get a little time! But here's Iris willing to help.

I'll get it done eventually. 

I spent 3 days in the hospital-I have a big ol kidney stone! So I'm out with this drain hanging out of my kidney. The Dr. that can remove the stone has me scheduled for November. I'm shopping for a new Dr. 

Look at this guy at the Noelridge park in Cedar Rapids. We were waiting for Mommy to get done teaching her class at Kirkwood, so we spent time at the park.

I tried to get a picture of him chasing the ducks, but he's too fast!!

I consulted with another Dr. and am taking Potassium Citrate to try to break up the kidney stone-he has me scheduled for surgery on my birthday, but we are all hoping it breaks up on it's own. I'll have an x ray in a few weeks-fingers crossed!!! 

 

Where Did October GOOOOOO????

Where did October go? I can't believe we're deeply into November already! 

Saturday the 26th, we had this in the driveway. 

Turns out Hubs has pneumonia and got to stay in the hospital for 3 days, He's home and doing much better now.

It's A Lot

 So on Monday my Dad had a stroke. Thankfully, he was at home and my Mom was able to call for an ambulance. The local hospital administered the MIRACLE DRUG, tPA. And he then was transported to University of Iowa Hospital.

And yesterday he was sitting up, eating and talking almost like normal.  He's lost a lot of time, he doesn't remember what happened and he never knows what day it is, but he's doing so well! So that's been on the top of the list of stuff going on around here!

Halloween happened!

This cute dinosaur and Spiderman and a PJ clad tween all came over to trick or treat.

I'm not too sure Dylan was into it!

I got this quilt done, 

The fabric came as one big piece with printed fat quarters. I got it on the MO shop hop, I'd never seen anything like it before, but it was pretty cool and very nice quality fabric.

As you can see from the pattern, I made a "design choice".......that means I put it together wrong, but who's going to tell?

Here it is all done.

A quick meandering quilting job on this one and TA-DA!

I like the way it came out!  I have another finish, but I gotta go get caught up on laundry!
