One More to Mail

 One more quilt to mail off to my dear SIL. This one is for her Bratboy-who she said likes camo.

 I think something simple like this Irish Chain should work well. I'm just winging it here-no pattern.

 I chose as many manly creamy colors as I could find.

 Bob is testing it out-he thinks it's OK!

 I like the way it looks!

 Spray basted and ready to go! Man it was hot in the sun! Glad it only takes a few minutes to get it sprayed!

 Looks great I think!

 I used 80/20 batting on this one-it's very lightweight and my quilting FB pals all said go light weight for Southern quilts.

 Now, to try out my newest machine. I'm planning to use the walking foot and just do straight stitches following the diamond shape the Irish chain makes.

 This camo really does camouflage the tread!

 The stitches look great! I have never had good success with straight stitching before, but this is wonderful!

 And here it is all bound and ready for a wash! And I do have the deer on the back right-side up!

I think he's going to love this one! I'll get it in the mail on Monday. I'll be glad to have these off my mind!

Inspirations Quilt Shop

 So, I've had this charm pack from Riley Blake hanging around taunting me for quite awhile now. It was like a sign when we went to Hills, Iowa this weekend, and stopped in at Inspirations. A new quilt shop I had never visited before.  Here's their   Link.

 

So look what a cute shop, it's right on the main drag in Hills. You can't miss it. It's in a vintage old building, but what a new and cheerful store!!

 Tons of that civil war/thimbleberries/classic antique style fabric greats you as you come in.

 Then work your way towards the back of the store and TA DA modern brights, lots of kid prints lots of color! Then go a little bit further and it's 1930's heaven! Oh my!

The ladies here were very nice and helpful. I bought a little bit of Riley Blake to go with my charm pack and now I must use it up! So I guess you know I am done with the "I'm not buying any fabric until I use up what I've got" part of life!

All Bound Up

 So, I finally finished binding this triangle quilt. I used the scraps I had left over and I cut it in that nice 3" width. What a rebel I am!

It looks good doesn't it!

Scrap Mission

I'm on a mission to sue up some of the fabric I have stashed around here. I'm not a hoarder, not like some folks you see on line anyways. But I'm kind of tired of seeing the same fabric over and over so here goes a 2nd baby boy quilt. I swear I'll never use up all of that pirate print that I liked so much a year or two ago!!YIKES!

I cut the main blocks 9X11 inches from a variety of boy-ish novelty prints and then decided to tone down the busyness by adding solid color diamond like I did on my brown and blue quilt last year.

I love this Alexander Henry fabric with the old time cowboys on it, and this is almost the last of it! I just have a tiny bit of it left.

It's a good thing I put that solid in there, I was getting kind of dizzy just looking at all the prints!!

Love those bears and what boy quilt would be complete without dogs and cars and some robots tossed in too! Now to decide on adding a border or not...I'll have to think about it!
