Busy Saturday

 So I got the new battery installed in Hubby's motorcycle.

It started right up with the new battery!

This rubber hold down strap though!!! I tried every which way to get it hooked back in place and finally gave up and Ben got it hooked for me! Such a hassle!

While I was out there, I got the dog water dish set up for the summer. I love this automatic water dish, I never have to worry about the dogs having enough water, with the float valve on it, it fills the just right amount.

And I put the battery back in the lawn mower, it's easier than the motorcycle, that's for sure! I guess we're all ready for summer chores now.

Not A Quick FIx!

 So I wanted to get the automatic dog water bowl set up, but my faucet is leaking when I turn it on! A quick google-You Tube search tells me it's my anti-siphon valve. It's leaking from that little plastic cap on the top.

Well, if you unscrew that little plastic cap, there's more plastic inside.

So I unscrewed the guts and headed to the local hardware store.....let me say, I am now reminded why I love to shop on line. The first guy asked me, "is the handle brown or tan?" Moving on to hardware store two. nope, they don't have it. On to Lowe's, nope they don't have it, but at least the guy there knew what it was! He showed me the tiny rubber gasket that I could try to replace. On to Amazon!

Unfortunately the gasket I tried from Lowe's didn't work-still leaking.  

My Amazon order arrived the next day. It wasn't exactly the correct part, but it had all the bits I needed to replace so it was a good donor kit. Done!

The dog dish is now leak free!

There's a New Kid..errr...Dog in Town

 I'm still working through my list of things to get done before winter...I got the wire mesh placed over the two window wells on the North side, I get so tired of cleaning out the leaves and debris, this should help a lot!

 Look there's Riley-she wants to help.

 Ladybird, Hank, Riley, Sandy and Ringo played with the kids a couple of weeks ago, they all play so hard!

 Up the steps and down the steps!

 Little Jaymie is a very good toy thrower for them to bring back to her!

 I also got the automatic dog water dish arranged to suit a couple of weeks ago. I should have told about it sooner.

 I got this nice dish off of Amazon, then got the quick connect hose connections and a new drinking water safe hose too. It's been hot so the dish has been doing it's job very well. It's a lot smaller than the old one-only about 2 or 3 quarts, but it fills right up as they drink, so it's fresher.

 And we've got a new kid in the yard. DD decided she needed to foster a shelter dog. I appreciate that-but I'm not sure she needed to be the one...but he's a sweetie, about 6-8 months old and who know what he is.

 He's been named Finn. There was a lot of discussion about that!

 And he's fitting in with the pack really well! His roommate Riley really loves to play with him.

I think he's beagle and St Bernard with Carolina Dog mixed in. Off to let them all outside now!
