A Little Hawkeye Project

 DD asked if I could replace the paper letters that spell Iowa on her door wreath with fabric letters.  Sure, why not? I don't have any black fabric, except lightweight Kona cotton-that's why not.

 So I pulled out some leather scraps! Smart! I used a stick on stabilizer, and made a little pattern to cut the pennant shapes from after I embroidered them. Then I sewed them all together on a little twill tape to tie to the wreath.

 

She sent me this picture-CUTE!
The leather worked great-it holds the letter up really well! Go Hawks!

Spring-Time

DD has been coveting a Pinterest post....here's what she's got her mind on....

I'm sure that's what she's thinking of right now too.....

 She had to remove a wooden frame from these old bed springs, and then it's tool time!

 Bolt cutters, wire snips, needle nose pliers, and brute strength!

" It's not as easy as it looks on Pinterest"-Really, ya think?! Nothing is EVER as easy as it looks on Pinterest....

 But she triumphs! Those bed springs didn't have a chance!

Now let's see what she does next!LOL!

Now I have Time for this Wreath

I saw this cute wreath, here   Sandy's Space,  and wanted to try it out, I can do origami, bet ya didn't know that!  So to the book I went! Yes, good old book! Cut out the 6" squares and went to town.

Looks pretty good. Now that I know how I can make some next Christmas...maybe even out of regular paper!LOL!

It's a nice 3D effect I think. I also think if you folded it without the valley, it would lay flat for mailing!

Progress

So I got the green bows all made and thought they were a little boring. SO I made these little foo-foo dealios that I've seen around the blog world with a star.

I do like the plaid ribbon holding the letters though!
