Well, It's November....

 So, I better finish up with October stuff! Here's Darling Daughter with Drew & Hayden. Missing Hailey, but we'll get her another time I hope!

I went up to Mom's and delivered her walker bag and I also had a Maid Rite.....SO GOOD!

ANd I don't think I showed this pretty fall looking tree in the back yard.

I got these beautiful flowers for my birthday!

The weather was gorgeous, so I went out and spray basted my Social Sharks Quilt.

I think this came out so cute. I was determined to not buy fabric for it, so I used what I had in my stash.

I wasn't sure about the background fabric, but it actually looks good!

This pattern , Social Sharks, was supposed to have 12 sharks. 

I was tired of making sharks after 2, so I quit after 8. 

I think it's still a pretty great quilt, finished at about 60" X 66" , instead of the 76x76 12 sharks would have made. 

And here it is all quilted and bound.

I just did wavy lines across the whole quilt to make it look like underwater.....well at least it looks wavy.

Funny thing, Hubs was watching Jaws last night .....hahahaha

I used the rest of a navy blue batik I had and some night stars for the back. I have a bit of an over stock on fabric, so I was glad to use these pieces up!

I also went to an estate sale and picked up a new metal picnic basket. I love these things! This one doesn't have a label or anything, but has great looking wooden handles. I got it for less than $5 along with a scrabble game and a card game. Always good to have games when kids appear.

That Fall looking trees leaves are gone-Finn  noticed right away. I bought candy bars for tick or treaters, thinking the girls from next door might stop by, nope-they weren't even home it didn't look like! Oh well, I think I'll have a Snickers in my lunch box!

More Chores & A finish

First of all-look! Melnor came through for me! I got a new hose sprayer in the mail!

 That was a nice surprise! You'll remember that I sent them an email with the information about the sprayer that was leaking badly.  Our daily dog-saster-Finn felt like it was his day to eat the random item...this is the trim from the electrical outlet on the back deck.

 Here's where it was. I swear that dog gets bored and thinks to himself, hmmm, I wonder how that'll chew?

 See? I believe he's thinking about what to chew next. Good thing you're cute little grand dog!

 The tomato plants are coming along really well! We'll have some tomatoes in no time with all the rain we've had lately.

 I finished this quilt!

 It really came out good. I'm calling it the Covid Quilt! Hahaha

 I used this stitch on my Babylock Lyric, and as I was zooming along I bumped the buttons!

 From now on I'm going to take a picture when I get the setting where I want it. I had to stop and get my scrap again and figure out what I had set the length to. So annoying!

 I used this fabric that I got at JoAnn last summer for the back. With the turquoise thread it turned out pretty!

 I used the walking foot to quilt the length of the quilt on the sashing and then again in the center of each row. I just eyeballed it. Who has time for all that measuring!

 It looks pretty good I think. Remember I got this fabric at Aldi's of all places. It was really inexpensive and I got 4 fat quarter bundles for less than $20 or so, if I remember correctly...something like that anyways.

 Here's the back, you can see the pretty wavy turquoise stitching.

 I wasn't sure how the inexpensive fabric would hold up , but it washed well. No noticeable fading, and it softened up nicely.

 I put it on the twin bed in the storage facility-I spent last weekend getting it put back together....so much work! I had boxes of stuff from when we had the new carpet installed.

 Anywas, it fits well with quite a bit of drop on each side.

 Good looking corners too!

SO glad that quilt is done! I also swapped mattress with the bed in Bob's room, I got a new mattress and the old one is better than the existing one in Bob's room, so I'll post it on the buy nothing FB page and see if I can get it out of here that way,  and then got the laundry done, vacuumed, scrubbed the kitchen sink, and various other things!

There's a 4th of July parade today in O town, but I think it's too risky to get that cozy with folks with the covid numbers still growing every day. 

Huibs thinks I'm crazy to worry about it, but I know at my work we wear masks and get temp checked before going in, and I am not taking any chances that I don't have to. Plus it's REALLY muggy today-I'll pass on sweating outdoors today!

Not the Best Week Ever

 SO I spent some time in the garage last weekend. It's time. Time to rotate the yard equipment. Good by lawn mower, hello snow blower. Things went down hill from there though.....

 I stopped at Costco to pick up a few things, like Charmin....what the heck? NO CHARMIN? What's going on in the world?!

 I did stop at the library book sale...I got 3 puzzles....I don't know, I thought, it'd be fun to do a puzzle.

 Earlier in the week though.....Yes that adorable pup, Finn, had several bad days-who knew that record albums could be eaten. While he is alone for just a few hours, he seems to be like a 3 year old toddler with 2 unattended minutes.

Such a sweet lil fella-just can't be trusted alone though.

And this picnic basket will never be the same. Deep sigh! We're trying to get him to play with more of the dog toys, busy interactive toys, that's the "expert" recommendation. We'll see.

Dog Days, Really Dogs

 SO often times, Hubs will take our two dogs for a short car ride out to the cemetery, he lets them out to run down the hill and picks them up at the bottom, then they come home. Well here's the weird thing, Ringo used to get in and out of his car without any issues, but lately, he won't get out. He just sits there in the shotgun seat, and won't get out-he growled at hubs when he tried to pull him out! If I go out and open the passenger door-he gets out! Boy-he has us trained!!

 DD's two pups have been here for doggie day care almost every day. They wrestle and have a good time! Except for old gal Sandy, she just looks at them with disgust.

 Ringo is much bigger than her pups, Riley and Finn.

 But they seem to enjoy roughhousing.

 Finn has been kind of a bad boy.....he's just a puppy, remember, only about 8-10 months old they guess. He has a chewing problem.....guard your shoes at all times. Gosh, he's adorable though. Oh Finn.

 When I got up the other day here's what was in the living room. Yes, he dragged that chair across the room and ate the upholstery off the front of it. The chair WAS over next to the cabinet, across the room!

Glad I don't have expensive new furniture. This is a really comfy low chair, I got it at an auction for, I think, $1. Maybe he just wanted me to have an upholstery project? I'll think about that.
