And Look at Wednesday!

So pretty! So hubs and I went to the Cedar Rapids Kernels game on Wednesday. 

It was a perfect day, not too hot, a little breeze and too bad the Kernels lost.  For  a noon game the parking was packed! 

It's a struggle to get Hubs outside for more than a minute, but I did it! I ended up having to park about 2 blocks away from the ballpark, so I parked him on the sidewalk and parked then walked back. I got my steps in too!

Oh and look at these beautiful flowers I got for Mother's Day.

So pretty!

The Ol' Ball Game Plus Prom

 So, Saturday was a busy day-it was Prom night, so Lovely Jean had the task of getting Caitlynn and her date out the door on time.

I took a quick snapshot before the evening got underway with a quick stop at the Depot in Tiffin. Don't they look sweet?

 And cute shoes too!

 SO then the rest of us plus Kayla & her son Ryker headed for the Ol Ball Game. It was P&G night so I got tickets from my employer, P&G. #pandgemployee!

 It was beautiful weather for the ball game! Plus they showed the Kentucky Derby on the big screen TV in center field before the game!

 Kevin & Ben were having a great time....

 And there were Pokemon there to be captured too!LOL!

 Selfies were fun of course!

 Jaymie & Ryker had a good time-there was cotton candy involved...

And fireworks to finish the night off! Always a good time at Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids-and the Kernels WON!

Baseball & The Eclipse

So I took the Gingers to watch the Cedar Rapids Kernels and the Eclipse at the same time!

 They had a noon game special, hot dogs were only $1! We got there early and had to wait in line for a little while....but we wanted to get the eclipse glasses they were giving away at the gate!

 They kept each other entertained.....

and in line.....

 And we had great seats for the game, too bad the weather didn't cooperate very well with the eclipse!

 But how bad could it be, as long as there is ice cream?!

 As the eclipse progressed, tit got dark enough that the field lights turned on. It was pretty cloudy though, so it was hard to see much of the actual eclipse.

Ice cream face didn't keep her from watching the eclipse...at least what could be seen of it.
The sun was actually, right there!

 After the game-which had a very exciting double play to end with a win for the Kernels- the Gingers wanted to have photo ops with the memorial tank in front of Veteran's Stadium....

 They are pretty photogenic, don't you think?

 Hams, one and all, I say!

 A great day at the ball park overall....and an eclipse for the ages!

At The Ol' Ballgame

The annual pilgrimage to the Kernels game was just a little bit damp this year. But look, see that guy sitting at the table? Signing autographs? That's Rod Carew-he's a famous ball player-even I know that! He had a line all the way down the concourse waiting for him. I feel so bad for his writing hand!

 Since Uber Son had to work, and Hubs thought it was too hot, DD and girlfriend-in-law went to the game with me along with DD's friend and his kiddo.

 Aren't they cute! The Cedar Rapids Kernels get off to a good start-look we had great seats on the 3rd base line! Hi Mr. Shucks!

 Uh Oh...clouds are moving in......

 Things are looking a little bit dreary..... then Whoosh, the rain let loose!!! DD and her pals were wimps and left! Not me and Girlfriend-in-law though! We are good fans!

 We got pretty damp, then they pulled out the tarp so we headed up top to wait it out.

After resuming play, the rains came again so we called it quits. We were ahead when we left and YAY! Kept the lead when the game was called after the 5th inning.

At The Ol' Ball Game

So, I really like to go to a ball game at least once a year and our local Cedar Rapids Kernels played a great game last night. Check out the great seats-FRONT ROW!! I was thrilled.
The Memorial Stadium was re-modeled a few years ago and it's a really nice place to go. Clean, and comfortable, and fun!
