It's Springing

 

There are some signs of Spring going on now.  See the lonely tulip, and the violets too? 

The real sign of  spring though, is this....the automatic dog water dish is out! 

It's been a tough winter in the backyard, we've got dog holes that you could bury a body in!

It's been pretty dry now for a couple of weeks.

Next thing you know it will be time to mow:-(

SO I got  this little tiller to till up the dog holes!

It's just a little electric tiller. The reviews on line and videos say it will do the trick though.

I put it together-now to wait for a little bit of rain, probably Saturday. Then I'll post how it works out.

We had Affordable Heating & Cooling out to check the AC unit. As they have told us for the last two years, our unit uses the old, bad kind of gas, and can't be readily fixed if it breaks down. We've kind of had it on our "that'll be next" list. But for now it passed all the Maintenance checks.

And there's the burn pile-we need to have the backyard bonfire pretty soon, but it's too dry this weekend. Soon though!

There was a lunar eclipse on May 15

Anyways, it was a fun viewing. 

I also got the dog dish installation completed for the year, so there's that! 

Bob & Ringo were happy to have water! So more catching up to come!

4th of July Fixing

SO I told you about the handy dandy automatic water bowl I have for the dogs outside. Well the hose started leaking so I went on the hunt for a new hose. Garden hoses were too big so Hubs suggested I take a lok at a washig  machien water hose. Well lo and behold it was just right!

 SO I took off the leaker off and cut off one end of the new hose-because it has fittings on both ends- and replaced the hose clamp.

 And TA_DA the dogs are back in business!

 They're happy to have water, and I'm happy to not be leaking water! I can't take that  water bill as it is!

 Then it's time for the 4th of July Parade in Oxford. Fire trucks, horses, cars, and tractors galore!

 The kids got a ton of candy!

 And it was a perfect day for a parade!

Watering the Livestock

So since it's "spring" I thought I should get the dog's outside dish ready. I love this dish, it has a float valve on it so it stays full all the time. But I've had it a few yesrs and it needs some work...again.

 Look the darn splitter-the thing so I can hook up the garden hose at the same time as the dog dish-broke. I paid pretty good money for this brass one..well I guess I'll get the cheapo one later.....

 Darn, the connection between the dish and the hose leaks...luckily I have more hose gaskets! YAY! uuuoooo, it looks like it needed one huh!

 And look here, Happy hydrated dogs! This dish has a metal cover that goes over the float, but for now I'm leaving it off uuntil I get the level set just right so the dish doesn't run over or keep the level too low.
