Parade Day

 I took Dylan to the 4th of July parade. 

We found a good spot next to Christie and Tony and Layton. 

I think it might have been the first time collecting candy for Dilly. 

He got quite a haul thanks to a little help from Layton! 

He brought home the bag of candy to show Grampa.

And before the parade we went to the Firecracker 4th Antique Show over in Amana. 

Dilly spotted a bike-He's pretty excited with bikes lately.

We had a good time. It was a good 4th of July-hot but a little breeze. 

I bought a few vintage ornaments. Plastic.

One shopping day at the mall, it wasn't too bad!

I'm pretty sure they don't make metal snow shovels anymore, but I bought one for Ben & Jean for Christmas-I just went with the made in the USA model.

Candy Tractor

I WAS at work and a person I know brought these cute candy tractors in to her work team.

She hot glued them together and she said to be easy on the hot glue because...guess what? Yes, chocolate melts! Genius!

In case you can't tell, it's a small pack of gum, two peppermint patties, two kisses, one nugget, two mini bars, and one rolo.
Cute as can be!

The Most Important Review You'll EVER Read (snort)

Ok so along with the Halloween treats are these little gems that have folks scrambling to get their own. M7M's is 1st up. White chocolate with candy corn flavor. I'm in. Now I'm not a chocolate lover at all, I pass on Hershey bars and I also pass on Gherradeli, and all that too. But I do love me some candy corn. Yum, it's the flavor of fall in my world. So I got my own bag of these "limited edition M&ms". I say YUM! Yes they are good. They do NOT taste at all like candy corn but they are pretty & bright, and if I have to eat chocolate, make it white. So I'd say OK good enough for $2.99 for a little bag.

Next up are these pretty  little gems.
 I'm not a fan of chocolate flavored Oreo cookies at all, but those vanilla Oreos are OK. So I'm thinking this is a winner winner chicken dinner for sure. $2.99 for a bag-that reminds you of Girls Scout Cookies(it's about the cause-not good value) and I wonder why the bag is resealable because anybody with a kid or two and a cup-o-beverage would eat all of these at once since there are only about 20 or so cookies in there.

Alas, I ate two and thought, nope not even a hint of the flavor of candy corn and not even nearly as good as the vanilla Oreos. They taste kind of waxy-maybe they were confused and were going for those wax lips we used to get at Halloween back in the day!? I'd say, unless you want them to look pretty on a tray, because they are colorful and pretty, leave them on the shelf. SO now you can safely head to your Halloween aisle and not be fooled by the pretty wrappers....wow! Look at all these pretty wrappers!

I remember May Day! When we were kids we would hurry home from school, beg the parent for money to go to the store to buy candy and then stuff candy & popcorn in a Dixie cup to be delivered to our friends houses. Oddly enough our friends were busy delivering May baskets to OUR house, so we never got involved in the chase/catch game that is a memory in so many bloggers May days.

Look What I got!!

I love these candy bars. I haven't had one in years! And they are as good as I remember. Ever notice that a lot of stuff isn't as good as you remember? Yummy deliciousness from the Atkinson Candy Company in Lufkin Texas, USA.
