Cinnamon Rolls and A Finish!

Hubs made me cinnamon rolls the other day-aren't they delicious looking? Well let me tell you, they were delicious!

Remember the Bonnie Hunter Mystery quilt called Chilhowie? I've got it done and decided to have a professional long armer quilt it.
 

Such bright cheery colors, and A LOT of pieces!

SO I found the resources list in the All Iowa Shop Hop Magazine from last year and there's a lady over in Mt Vernon. So I met her over at Helio's Quilt Shop in Mt Vernon-one of my favorite places- Happiness by Design, Owner, Debbie talked me through her process and we chose a design that she had used in a display quilt in the shop, so I got to see it in a whole quilt!  I chose a purple cuddle backing-I ordered it from MSQC. It took a couple weeks to get it! It looks grey in this photo, but it's purple...see the design?

She also gave me thread options and I told her to go for it! It'll look great, and a couple weeks later-IT LOOKS FABOULUS!!!

LOVE< LOVE< LOVE IT! It cost me just a little less than $200, including batting and thread, and I purchased the backing separately.  

Snow & Sew

So, the Bonnie K. Hunter mystery quilt along, call Chilhowie #Chilhowiemysteryquilt,  is in full swing now. I'm almost caught up with the clues. 

It takes so long to TRIM!

 I wasn't sure about these colors-they're pretty much what was suggested at the beginning.

But, it's growing on me a little bit. 

We finally had a clear day for our Christmas get together on New Year's day! 

We went out to Julie's house and she served vegetarian soup, and I brought walking tacos. 

We all ate well!

Gifts were exchanged. 

I felt like it was a really good year for gifting!

Mom got a SOFT blanket and a gorgeous plant from Jean, 

Dad got an Anvil BOOK! from me.....Julie got a book from Ben, 

Jaymie got guinea pig toys-she was quite thrilled!

Jean & Kevin both got gift cards and Ben got socks. 

Love this picture! CJ and her beau Jessie were thrilled with their gifts too. 

I don't think I posted Christmas eve pictures-I delivered our gifts to the family. 

Dannie and her jadeite-we found her a few pieces while we were on vacation in Galveston.

Hailey opening her gifts-she's not a highly expression-ish kid, but I think she was pleased. As were Hayden and Drew. 

Since the Bean family kids are all bigger, they got money-I went with the theory that by the time kids are in high school they would rather have money. Don't know if that's true or not, but there it is! So that finished the 2022 holiday season! On we go!

Holidays Are Coming Up FAST!

So, you know it's getting close when the Holiday Box arrives!

I love that my employer, P&G, sends every employee and retiree a holiday box filled with a gift, and product. The ever present chocolate covered almonds!

This year it's a picnic blanket-it's waterproof-like a tarp- on the back and plush plaid on the front. 

And  a deck of cards! 

As well as a good selection of product. Thanks P&G.

Her first clue comes out on Black Friday, but she lets everyone know the colors ahead of time.

Here's the inspiration picture from her blog. I always say I am not in a hurry to join this one, but I always do it anyways. This year I might end up saving a few clues, since we're going on a vacation the week of Christmas! 

I did get ahead and bake cakes for Thanksgiving/birthdays which will be celebrated on Saturday.

I got these cute nesting measuring cups from Pampered Chef, and I love them! It makes me feel like I'm on a cooking show! Now on to Thanksgiving!
