Yard Work

So remember I got this tiny little electric tiller? I took it out in the backyard to tear up some Dog Holes on Tuesday. It sprinkled a little bit, so maybe the ground will be a little bit softened up. It was a little test to see how it would work.

See those dog holes? Kinda hard to see in the picture, but you could break a leg on one of those holes. 

Here, I highlighted the worst holes. See they look blue in the same picture above. Now, I'm going to plug in this tiller and  WOW!!!!!!

Look at this! That little tiller chewed up the ground with ease! I just held on tight and it did a great job! It's also lightweight so I could move it around to level out the Dog Holes. I spent about 15 minutes and got these holes done! I would have spent at least an hour doing it with a shovel-especially since the ground is still pretty hard.  I think this is an excellent purchase. 

I also took some time to rotate equipment-snow blower to the back and lawn mower to the front of the garage. And I put the battery back in the lawn mower. And plugged in the chargers for the push mower and weed whacker. 

And I also tested out an idea I've had for awhile. 

I've had this hole reel sitting around out in the garage for a few YEARS now, and I wanted to see if the little Dewalt air compressor would be strong enough to use it. 

I got it all connected, and it does blow pretty well-not a lot of pressure, but Ringo wanted to eat it!

He was eager to bite the air!

And it was enough pressure, and hose length that I could blow all the tree debris off the front ramp. The wind has been crazy lately and we have lots of tree buds everywhere. 

And on Friday I mowed the lawn for the first time of the season.

 

PM...That's Planned Maintenance

 Planned Maintenance -that's what it's called at work, when you know something needs to get done and you schedule time in advance to do it. SO my dryer vent hose had a hole in it and was blowing lint into the laundry room! I just had to plan a time to get it taken care of! I pulled off the whole mess of duct and used my air compressor to blow that line out!

 I used the long extension I got for my little compressor and got in there really well!

 I pulled out the dryer in the house and got that end all fixed up, then it was the garage side....

 Good to go! It was sooo hot in the garage.

 Now this end was a little tricky. The plastic vent hole on the outside of the house has only a tiny little edge to make the connection.....so I cut up a deli container and made a little extension! See all done! It looks like you can see daylight-and you can because it's a clear container extension. Maybe that would be a new invention- see through dryer vent, then you could tell when it's getting clogged and clean it out.....anywas, it is now secured and good to go for awhile!

Ringo helped me too. We used the air compressor to blow the dust out of the fan. 

He kept trying to bite the air....

Goofy dog! But helpful, yeah, that's it helpful. Now I'm going to go sew!

20 Year Anniversary

 SO it's my 20 year anniversary working for Procter & Gamble this month! YAY! for me! I got my award plaque, and I got to go out for breakfast with my work team. All on the company's dime! And when you have anniversaries in increments of 5..like 5,10,15,20,25...then you get to select a gift from the on line award catalog.

 They have all kinds of things to choose from at the 20 year level. A bike, electronics, a TV,

 a table saw, watches, lamps, clocks, camping gear, luggage

 small appliances, like blenders and juicers rings and pins and jewelry like that

 But I chose this! I've been wanting an air compressor for awhile now and just lucky me, there was one waiting for me to select it.

 It arrived the other day so I had to go get a few accessories for it...like a hose......and fittings...I got this package with everything I need, I guess....darn it! Too bad the package tried to maim me!

 I got it all together and it works great. What a nice way to celebrate 20 years of hard work!!
