Bonnie K Hunter Mystery Quilt Called Old Town

 It's done!

The Old Town Mystery Quilt is finished. This quilt along started at Thanksgiving time last year and I just finished it.

I chose the Twist Feather Curl pattern from the built in designs on Freddie. 

This is the biggest quilt I've done on Freddie so far!

It's about 90" wide and square before quilting and finishing.

I used plain light gray minky for the backing. I couldn't find any other color wide backing.

Oopsy, it's been snowing and melting a few days now and of coursr, I had to flop one end onto the deck mess. 

Well, into the washer she goes!

Washes up great! Nice and crinkly like I like.

I like the way it came out and I'm glad to be done with this one!

Now on to the next project! But I need to tend to hubby for a day or two. He slipped in the ice and has a pretty bruised hip. 

Snow & Sew

So, the Bonnie K. Hunter mystery quilt along, call Chilhowie #Chilhowiemysteryquilt,  is in full swing now. I'm almost caught up with the clues. 

It takes so long to TRIM!

 I wasn't sure about these colors-they're pretty much what was suggested at the beginning.

But, it's growing on me a little bit. 

We finally had a clear day for our Christmas get together on New Year's day! 

We went out to Julie's house and she served vegetarian soup, and I brought walking tacos. 

We all ate well!

Gifts were exchanged. 

I felt like it was a really good year for gifting!

Mom got a SOFT blanket and a gorgeous plant from Jean, 

Dad got an Anvil BOOK! from me.....Julie got a book from Ben, 

Jaymie got guinea pig toys-she was quite thrilled!

Jean & Kevin both got gift cards and Ben got socks. 

Love this picture! CJ and her beau Jessie were thrilled with their gifts too. 

I don't think I posted Christmas eve pictures-I delivered our gifts to the family. 

Dannie and her jadeite-we found her a few pieces while we were on vacation in Galveston.

Hailey opening her gifts-she's not a highly expression-ish kid, but I think she was pleased. As were Hayden and Drew. 

Since the Bean family kids are all bigger, they got money-I went with the theory that by the time kids are in high school they would rather have money. Don't know if that's true or not, but there it is! So that finished the 2022 holiday season! On we go!

Good Fortune Mystery Quilt

 So, I thought what a great way to start the new year, with a quilt along. So I jumped in a little late to the Quiltville Mystery.  Here's the link to go get the clues to do it too!
Anyways, I started a little late, but now I'm about caught up.

 Here are the fabrics I've chosen-the mystery quilt clues indicate that this is going to be bright and vibrant-so I just follow Bonnie K Hunter's color scheme. What could go wrong? She is famous in the quilt world for using scraps and tiny pieces. Not exactly my thing, but I love the colors.

 Lots of red and neutral 4 patch blocks in the works! The thing is, since it's a mystery, one has no idea how all these blocks will be put together.

 And a bunch of blue & neutral half square triangles-I've finished the week 6 clue too, now to see about week 7!

 And here's the piles so far! I have the neutral blocks done too! So far the Good Fortune quilt mystery is coming along well!
