Sew For Others-Favorite Jeans

 So, I love a good fitting comfortable pair of jeans as much as the next person, But..this guy...he takes it to another level. These are his favorite jeans, so I told him I'd try, but it wouldn't be pretty. The rear is torn out

 the front is torn out..there's not much left intact here.....

 First I patch the rear....just put a scrap on behind the jeans, and stitch it in place adding reinforcements along the sides.

 that shaped up as good as it could-there's no way I know to make this kind of damage invisible..LOL!

 Now that front pocket area....I think I'll ad some stylish thick white stitching on the front of this patch. Kind of make it blend in with the fancy stitching on these jeans. SO I patch it from the back.

 I didn't tuck under the edges on this one...and then fix the knee too.

Then I load my bobbin with some embroidery floss and stitch in a giant zig zag...just to be stylish, ya know.

 Hey! Looks like he bought them that way, right? And after mending the giant hole on the other pocket area, I added some giant white stitches to it too.

 I am always amazed that folks will pay for jeans with holes already in them...brand new, with holes! I just shake my head and say "I can fix that for you." DD always turns me down though...go figure.

 SO all done! Not too bad looking..there's only so much that can be done with something like this.

But at least he won't be exposing himself!

So I got swamped with a bunch of New Year repairs this week!

Hemmed  A pair of jeans...

Shortened some sleeves....

Patched a pair of jeans...

And did what I could for a pair of wool suit trousers that were just plain worn through in the seat...

Maybe that will hold until they get a new suit.
And one more sleeve shortening project.

I'm not sure how I'm going to do this sleeve. It's fleece on one side and water resistant, ply something or other on the top side with elastic in the fleece side and not on the top side. 
Deep sigh, it's break time I think!!

Now tell me this. When's the last time you saw a full pair of coveralls?

Yup, it's been awhile. A guy at work loves these denim, uninsulated coveralls. These had a little tear in the knee.

NO problem-I got you fixed right up!

Now back to that weave-the-fabric baby quilt!

Mending....

I haven't been doing much in the way of interesting things, but I have been doing quite a bit of mending for other folks.

Beltloops back on and the hole fixed,

Darn pockets always are a problem,

There that's better!

and the inside is not too bad either!  A few more pairs to go now. Oh I almost forgot a pair of John's!
