Wow! The End of the Year is Coming Up FAST!

A while back I stopped by the Kiwanis Antique show to have a look.

I'm always on the look out for cool things, plus Christmas is coming! Never know what I'll see! One thing I noticed, EVERYONE has some Pyrex/Fireking glass to sell.
There could be a whole booth of junk and they still have a Pyrex bowl or pan there too. It must be the trend right now.
I saw a couple of Jadeite pieces, but too much!!!!
I came home with a few ornaments and a cute pair of tiny scissors.
It's also time to get the Christmas décor out!

My total fave, the ceramic Christmas tree, plus the tiny porcelain nativity.

I am using a new to us tree this year. It's a 9 footer with an adapter to make it a 6 1/2 footer, which is a really good thing because a 9 footer isn't fitting here!
I just got out he 3 piece nativity this year.  Mary & Joseph are enjoying the light of the Scentsy warmer!
Santa is making his appearance this year on the desk instead of the fireplace.
And those ornaments I bought are here too!
The tee is a little bare on the lower level-what's known as tail height around here. A dogs tail can fling an ornament like a shot across the room!
I'm not too sure about this tree-it's one I got used from a gal that was moving and it has good looking branches, but they are really hard to get spread out.
I used a lot of the vintage ornaments this year. There are more, but I got tired of hanging them!
And I got some new tiny multicolor lights.
Just a few of the vintage ornaments.

I just love them all.

Here's one I just got last week!
Well we're all set with the festive decor, and Santa is tied down on the front step too! We had some high winds the other day, so I decided to keep him in place with an extra safety tie!
Late addition!! Look at this adorable sparkley tree collar!
I ordered it from Amazon and I love it! It looks fabulous!
With Dogs and Bob shedding and swooshing paws and tails, I didn't want a tree skirt, but I sure needed something. And then I saw tree collars! Who knew there was such a thing! It just came today and I'm so glad it did!

Riverside Antique Show Fun

So 2 weeks ago-Jeepers, I got behind on blogging- DD and I went out to the antiques show at the casino in Riverside with our friend BJ. There's always something to see there!
See that little brass anvil? Yeah, but $75 is waaay tooo much I think. It wasn't that cute.
We always keep an eye out for Jadeite Jane Ray dinner ware for DDs collection. She tells me NO MUGS!
 Look there's a corn platter!
If we could see a pair of S&P in Jadeite, we'd probably get em, but they usually are in pretty poor shape-the word Salt is almost always worn off.

Oh and Christmas stuff. My favorite!
I just love to look at all this old stuff...
I probably should have bought those balls, oh well, I bet we see them again at the next antique show! Now that the weather has finally turned to spring, DD came and burned off the hillside.
Get all those winter weeds burned away!
It was such a nice day!

Look Dennis & Ben came over to get Ben's motorcycle going. These goofy kids tried out the roller blades...Dennis thinks he can dance!
Yeah, OK you can dance...sure, dance....
Kids and dogs in the driveway, sounds like a movie doesn't it?
Speaking of dogs, here's the latest to join the pack. He is DDs roommate for now. His name is Tank....
Stupid name for a dog, I call him little brown dog.
He's just a pup, but pretty smart and sweet.
The rest of the dogs all do pretty well with him. There, now I think I'm all caught up! New quilt finish soon!!

Labor Day Flea Market

I stopped by the Johnson County fairgrounds for the annual Ralston Greek labor Day Sale.  Lots of good stuff to see And what a nice morning. See those bird feeders made of vases and bowls. Pretty clever. I don't want to feed the birds, but a good idea is a good idea!
I have one of the lightning rod dealios, DD got it for me-they were asking something like $30 for this one.
This guy had lots of cool stuff, but nothing I needed to buy.
I wonder if I should learn to use a spinning wheel? Maybe not...but they had one for sale here!!
See these NOS (New Old Stock) Halloween bags...$12 each! Wow!
There was a good crowd and it seemed like a lot fo folks were buying stuff.
I almost bought this picnic basket....I really should have....but I have enough for now I guess.
These folks were selling wooden spools and they made some into clocks. That yellow painted one was $175. I do like that idea of the treadle legs with a spool top though. Another good idea!
