First One for 2019

SO I finished my Good Fortune Mystery Quilt!

 It's basically these two blocks, with some borders.

 But it's well over 3000 pieces!

 Here's the top all done

 With the borders all on.

 Then I got some adorable fabric from over at Helio's Stitches & Stuff in Mt Vernon for the back. I find that my spray adhesive doesn't work well in the cold weather, so I couldn't use my garage door for basting. Instead I had to use the kitchen island.

 It's not the best, because I have to do it in sections and it seems like I always have a bump in there!

 But I got it spray basted. I used and 80/20 batting by Hobbs on this one.

 I do like the bright colors-thanks to Bonnie K. Hunter for the colors and the free mystery quilt along.
I'm not sure I'm sold on the scrappy borders either-they were the paper backed string ones. They're kind of stretchy-I kind of struggled to keep them flat.

 If you want the pattern, you have until Feb. 1 to print it out or save it to your computer, because she will remove it from the web page and then you'll have to pay for it. Here's the LINK.

 I spread it out in Bob's room to try to get it in a good picture.

I'm glad this one is done. I really don't know that I enjoy quite so many pieces! Now what to do next?

Google How to Change A Light Bulb......

 So, the little light bulb on the front of my Jeep Renegade is burned out. There's a light on my dash that tells me every day when I drive. Deep sigh...don't you just want to have a "yes, I know it" button to stop the light? Anyways, I googled how to change the bulb-in a Jeep Renegade, because I had no idea how to access it.

 In past vehicles, I have found that you kind of have to dis-assemble the car to change a light bulb. Luckily in this case, you just have to pop off this panel in the wheel well-I had to turn the wheel so Icould get in there, but no trouble!

 Here's one of two bulbs that are in the light spot I need to replace. The other one is a clear bulb...jeepers, of course I had to do it the hard way and take out this bulb-which was just fine and THEN get to the one that was actually burned out!

 See that little hole on the right side, above my arm? You can look in there and see exactly where you need to reach to change the bulbs. Handy, but a wee bit awkward when one hand is holding the phone flashlight and if I had a longer arm that would be good too!

 TA-DA!  That little light is now doing what it was made to do!

And I got the cover panel back in place too. Those two fake screws are totally silly-there's nothing to screw in to-I just popped one out of the hole and popped it back in there again.  Now I can go sew a little bit!

I need to trim about 200 little half square triangle blocks, then it's assembly time for the Good Fortune Mystery Quilt!!!

Packing it Up :-(

 So I packed up the Christmas stuff today. It always makes me a little sad-I do love our stuff!

 But I got two little boxes of ornaments for next year-so there's something to look forward to! And more ornament hooks too-I have a bunch of them around in one of my boxes, but I sure couldn't find them this year!

And work continues on the Good Fortune Mystery quilt.

 Foundation paper piecing using phone book pages! It's a kind of new technique for me, we'll see how it all fits together soon.

The mystery solution has been posted, but I'm going to finish mine before I show it to you!
