Bonnie Do List...

I've had a mirror sitting behind the door in Ben & Bob's room ever since I painted. I know, shameful. Anyways, I fianlly bought the correct kind of hangers for it and they have been sitting here for another mmm few days, yeah, that's it a few days...so I better get busy!

Level!! Yeah!!

And a few wall anchors, and wow, still level..I usually have a lot of level issues...


Well darn, my mirror must be less than 1/4" thick, it rattles back and forth in the hangers.... I know how to fix this!

Yup a little sticky foam sheet...

and my mirror must be kind of not flat too..Oh well a couple of extra pieces of sticky foam stacked up and TA-DA.

There, now you can scare yourself when you close the bedroom door! 

Finished!

Remember this PINK bookcase? I got it for ONE DOLLAR!









I sanded the heck out of it.

And I used spray primer on  it.....

And sanded it some more... 

Then I started painting it...

And I waited for every coat to dry, I spend a lot of time waiting for stuff to dry....

And now it's done! Or is that finished...err, completed! Yeah!!!!

I love this color, it was a sample jar I got at Lowe's when I was getting paint for Ben & Bob's Room. A little sample jar for $2.99 was more than enough to do this book shelf. I thought it was going to be more gray, but it was more greenish, so perfect for our bedroom! So a nifty total of $3.99 for an awesome  book case..I LOVE it! Wouldn't bead board be cool on the back of this bookcase? hmmm....uh oh, I feel a project coming on! Oh but then it wouldn't be reversible....

Projects...never ending projects...

I finally got the 1st coat of primer on the little bookcase. I gotta say, steel wool sure does make a nice surface! One more coat to dry and then paint and finished! YAY! One project almost done.

 I  started another quilt. This one is for Darling Daughter. She whines that I never made HER a quilt for HER very own. SO I'm trying out a T shirt quilt!

I have all of the fronts fused with interfacing. I used the knit

fusible interfacing.

Ironing T shirts is not fun. She's been accumulating these shirts for years....I guess it's high time I got going.

Yes, since 06...well I got stuff to do!!!

This is the pattern I'm using. It was suggested by my friend at my local quilt shop, Common Threads Quilt Shoppe in North Liberty Iowa.
I'll keep you posted on the progress!

Name that Color....

So guess what this color is? Well yes, it's the color I painted my "ACCENT WALL"...I was told that's what I have here....OK.

So nobody...(read- hubs, daughter)..... liked my nice plain neutral color choices, so boy do we have color now!

The Park Ranger's Bed

So, the twin sized bed in Uber Son's room was getting pretty ratty. I figured I'd find a double bed so we'd be all set for overnight guests. I got a new mattress & box spring for me and moved the older one right in. I just needed a frame for it.  I looked at a few yard sales and I went to the Wednesday auction, and I browsed Craig's List and that's where I found this beauty.

 I called the owner, he was over in West Branch, Iowa. He gave me directions and off Hubs and I went to see it. It was love at first sight for me. Such pretty wood! I met the owner who happened to be a National Park Ranger at the Herbert Hoover National Historic Sight. A very nice guy and the bed was ours for only $50.

I threw mom's quilt on it for a picture...looks awesome doesn't it! And those freshly painted walls...Oh My!!!!
