So I was visiting a few blogs and I came across this very cute quilt on a very cute blog and could really associate with the writer when she talks about the "cranky old lady quilt shop".
Now you know I love Peg and her shoppe-here  Common Threads, so I try to shop there often. But sometimes I stop in at Joann too. I was there on a Saturday recently and a lady in line ahead of me at the cutting table asked for 12" of a cotton print. The cutting table lady (CTL) snipped off the 12 inches and the cutiomer asked if she could please measure the cut fabric. The CTL tossed it across the table to her and when she measured it on both ends it was not 12" equally. She asked for another cut since she really needed 12" for her project. The CTL told her she should buy 13" then. HUH!!!!!!!!!!! Get outta here!!!!!!!! I thought to my self "you need to learn to cut CTL!!" If the customer asks for 12" you should give them 12"...and if cut corrctly it will measure 12" at both ends!!! Why would she want to pay for an extra inch just because the CTL can't cut correctly.
