Just About Caught Up

I've been a really neglegent blogger lately, but I'm almost caught up now. Here's the latest quilt finish.

A very dear friend had a baby boy recently. Baby's Dad has been friends with our Son since they were little guys.
Anyways, they named the boy Layton. So I thought I'd work that into the alphabet panel I have on hand. I just winged it on the letters.

I just needed to make it big enough to fill out the skinny alphabet panel.

I love this alphabet panel, but it is too narrow to make a good size baby quilt.
Adding layton to the side makes it good sized!
I shopped for some fluffy minky for the backing-kids love the fuzzy stuff.
I found this orange Shannon Cuddle up at Inspired to Sew in Cedar Rpaids IA. It's a really good match.
I got some of this cute Kaffe Fasse stripe to use for the binding. I had to cut length wise binding instead of crosswise.
And here's the finish. I sure do need to figure out what the deal is with my phone's camera.
It squishes the pictures up-I need to look at that.

Love that sloth! That backing is luscious!
And just a big meander-I don't like to make too much stitching on the fuzzy back quilts, it seems like they are fluffier with a little less quilting.
My favorites P for python, and X for xerus, which is an African ground squirrel. Educational, right!?
