Paper, Paper, Paper

I just love this picture I took of Dilly when he was riding his bike in the driveway. Dimple SMILE!

It's been paper shredding time! With Mom's death, we are clearing out the excess paper items that she stored. I've shredded a large grocery bag of bank statements from the 90's, and I fell down the bunny trail with check book registers.
The 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's and 20's-so many check book registers-some folks of a certain age won't even know what these are!!

Google says to shred them...OK, I will but it's such a cool little time capsule kind of thing.  Who could possibly have food at Country Kitchen for $7.69??? And do you remember Jack & Jill?
Mom Wrote checks for everything and she was diligent about balancing her check book. I can remember her at the kitchen counter searching for the 3 cents she was off compared to the bank statement.
Spurgeon's! Oh what a memory-it was a local department store, I can remember going there when I was a little kid.  Seberg's was the pharmacy, I wonder if that was a prescription for $2?
She must have had some serious sewing planned here, she went to So Fro, JoAnn's and Mary Lynn's!
3 fabric stores-what a great day!!
On to more paper Continuing Education Certificates-Mom was a nurse and they are required to have a certain number of continuing education credits each year and keep the certificates for 7 years. Mom was an over achiever on that 7 year thing! And I came across some insurance papers that we'll need to check into to make sure they have been properly recorded or redeemed.  So much paper-it's making me much more conscious about the paper I keep!
The Plumber came for the annual inspection-I don't need to keep this paper!! They did put in a new anode rod, but here's the nice thing about the blog here!
